Date: Friday, January 19, 2024
Time: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM ET
Location: Joslin Classroom II (C107)
Fee: $18 ($16 Members)

Although longleaf pines themselves are pollinated by wind, the understory beneath them is rich with flowering plants that rely on insect pollinators. During this session, we’ll look at the role of insect pollinators in longleaf pine ecosystems of the southeast. Specifically, we’ll touch on the pollinators of rare and endangered plants, and we’ll ask how insect pollinators cope with fire. Participants will have the opportunity to examine and identify specimens of some important insect pollinators from longleaf habitats.
