The Botanical Garden Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit (501 [c] ) membership organization chartered in 1966 to support the North Carolina Botanical Garden, its mission, and its programs. Foundation members contribute nearly 50 percent of the funds for operating expenses and improvements to the Garden. In addition, the Botanical Garden Foundation protects nearly 300 acres of land for conservation purposes. The Botanical Garden Foundation is an Affiliate Foundation of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and subscribes to the standards for UNC Affiliate Foundations.
Gifts of cash, securities, or in-kind gifts to the Garden are processed and recorded by the Development Office of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
