Due to forecasted impacts from Hurricane Florence, UNC has issued an order resulting in the closure of the North Carolina Botanical Garden from Wednesday, September 12 through Monday, September 17. We hope to reopen on Tuesday, September 18, but this closure means that the Sculpture in the Garden Preview Party is cancelled and the official opening of the show postponed. We hope to reschedule the Preview Party for a future date and will announce the official opening date as soon as possible.
Sculpture in the Garden
September 16 - December 9, 2018
It has become tradition, but there is nothing predictable about it. The 30th Annual Sculpture in the Garden exhibition opens on Sunday, September 16, at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Since its inception in 1988, Sculpture in the Garden has united the work of local artists with the curated landscapes of the North Carolina Botanical Garden to create a stunning and novel way to experience sculpture, the natural world, and the relationship between the two. This year's show features over 50 pieces by 29 artists in media ranging from steel to ceramic to glass.
Admission to the exhibition, as well as to the Garden itself, is free and open to the public. Sculpture in the Garden is geared toward all ages and will be enjoyed by the casual observer as well as the serious art collector. Most pieces are available for purchase, although no pieces will be removed before the end of the show. This year, voting for the People's Choice Award will begin during the Preview Party and continue to be open to the public until Sunday, October 14.
DATE TBD (Originally: Saturday, September 15; 4:30-6:30 p.m.)

Take a tour of the show, enjoy refreshments, and vote for your pick for the People's Choice Award! At the end of the afternoon, we'll announce the People's Choice Award winner. Free and open to the public.
