The Bees Are Back!

Beehive at CCCG

This past Saturday, the Carolina Campus Community Garden hosted the first free Honeybee Hive Tour of the year! As a seamless addition to UNC’s recent distinction as a Bee Campus USA, Certified Beekeeper, Anne Cabell, introduced the crowd to CCCG’s new friends in the hive. The crowd had the opportunity to get answers to all of the questions buzzing around in their minds, and get up close and personal with the bees.

Responsible for pollinating one third of the world’s food and produce, these fascinating creatures captivated everyone, and are a welcome addition to our garden!

Didn’t get to make it to the tour? No worries! The hive will be at the CCCG all Spring! If you would like to see the bees for yourself, visit the garden and volunteer at the garden for one of our workdays on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3-5pm. We will also be holding a Honeybee Hive Tour part 2 on Saturday, June 8 from 2-3pm.
