NatureFest – for families!

A boy examines soil with a magnifying glass at one of the NatureFest activity tables. His father stands behind him. More parents and children are in the background.

Join us on Saturday, October 19 from 1-4 p.m. for NatureFest: a FREE, family-friendly celebration of our native plants and animals!

Explore the wonders of nature through fun, hands-on activity stations set up throughout the Garden, including carnivorous plants, live animal encounters, native bees, painting with acorn ink, birdwatching, leaf art, and fairy house building. Locopops will be available for purchase.

All ages welcome, but the event is designed for families with children up to age 10. No registration necessary. Sign up here to receive an email closer to the event with tips to make the most of your experience.

We’ll be joined at NatureFest by our awesome community partners: the Chapel Hill Public Library, Kidzu Children’s Museum, New Hope Bird Alliance, NC Herpetological Society, NC Museum of Natural Sciences, NC Science Trail, NC State pollinator researchers, Triangle Land Conservancy, and Wake Soil & Water Conservation District.

Parking

We’ll have two parking areas on Saturday: our main parking lot at 100 Old Mason Farm Road, and shuttle parking just down the road at the Finley Athletic Fields. A shuttle will be running on a loop between the Finley Fields and the Garden – it’s a 2-minute ride!
