Spring Native Plant Sale

May 7 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

Free

An NCBG staffer talks to customers about the native plants arranged on a table in the NCBG tent

Join us for our annual Spring Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.!

Purchase southeastern native plants grown at the North Carolina Botanical Garden’s own nursery as well as at Cure Nursery, Field to Cottage Nursery, Growing Wild Nursery, and Mellow Marsh Farm. After you’ve chosen your plants, stop by Reeves Auditorium for an environmental fair with local conservation organizations. Garden members receive a 10% discount on NCBG plants. Not a member? Join today!

Here are a few tips for enjoying your experience:

Parking
Because parking in our main lot is limited, we’ve arranged for additional parking at the Finley athletic fields and at the SECU House just down Old Mason Farm Road from the Garden. You’ll see signs on the road for those lots, and a shuttle will run continuously from these sites and the entrance to the sale.

B.Y.O.-Cart
If you’re planning to get more plants than you can easily carry in a tray, you may wish to bring your own cart or wagon. (We have some here, but not enough for everyone.) You can drive in to drop your cart off and then head to the shuttle lot, if need be.

Vendors
In addition to our own NCBG nursery, we’re excited to welcome Cure Nursery, Field to Cottage Nursery, Growing Wild Nursery, and Mellow Marsh Farms. Garden members receive a 10% discount on NCBG plants. (Not a member? Save time by joining today!)

Plants
We will not be publishing a plant list in advance for this sale, but between the five vendors there will be a wide variety of southeastern native perennials, grasses, ferns, vines, shrubs, and trees for sale.

Payment Methods
At the consolidated check-out area, you’ll pay for your plants from all five vendors. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Apple Pay, and checks. Two of six lines will also be accepting cash.

Environmental Fair
The New Hope Audubon Society, North Carolina Native Plant Society, and Orange County NC Extension Master Gardeners will be stationed in Reeves Auditorium to answer your questions. You’ll also be able to meet with several of our awesome corporate sponsors, including Leaf & Limb, Robi Decking, Soil³, and Tony Hall & Associates.

Rain or Shine
The sale will be rain or shine: we recommend sunscreen if it’s sunny or a rain jacket if it’s rainy!

Safety Precautions
As of March 7, masks are optional in our indoor spaces.
