Partial Scholarship Application

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide partial-tuition scholarships for up to four (4) individuals who are students or professionals in an allied field who aspire to bring the healing effects of nature into their current or future practice. The North Carolina Botanical Garden wants this opportunity to be given to someone who is ready and excited to strengthen their health and service centered work with clients through the joys of gardening and nature. If that someone is you, please consider applying.

This scholarship will cover up to 65% of the fees for the Hybrid Certificate in Therapeutic Horticulture, a regular price of $1,850. You will be required to make an overall payment of $650, at a minimum, to be accepted into the program. At the time of registration, you will be required to submit one-half of your overall payment. For example, if you receive the maximum partial scholarship, you will be required to pay an amount of $325 upon registration, and the remaining $325 before August 1, 2024.

Criteria

Partial scholarships are intended to support students who do not have the financial means or would cause extreme financial hardship to participate in the HCTH program without assistance. These scholarships will be awarded on a case-by-case basis based on expressed need described in response to the questions in the Request for Partial Fee Relief section below. Submission of this application does not guarantee a scholarship. Participants must be able to adhere to the HCTH attendance policy to receive a scholarship, without exception.

Deadlines

All applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on February 29, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email by the end of the day on March 15, 2024 and will have 72 hours to confirm acceptance. All applicants will be notified whether or not a scholarship is granted once all scholarships have been awarded.
