Join our team this summer! We’re hiring for summer internships in our Conservation, Horticulture, and Learning & Community Engagement departments. These positions provide students and emerging professionals a chance to gain hands-on experience in fields ranging from sustainable gardening to natural areas management.
Our summer internships are paid positions that last from mid-May to mid-August. They range from 30 to 40 hours per week (see details in each listing). If you need housing for the summer, we encourage you to check out UNC’s Summer Intern Housing.
Ellen and Charles Johnson Student Intern (Closes 2/18/2024)
This internship will help maintain both the Edible Campus gardens and the Carolina Community Garden.
Fred and Virginia Houk Sustainability Intern (Closes 2/18/2024)
In 2024, this internship will focus on improving the sustainability of our native plant greenhouse and nursery operations.
Horticulture Interns (Closes 2/18/2024)
Our horticulture interns conduct garden maintenance at either our main display gardens or at Coker Arboretum on campus.
Natural Areas Conservation Interns (Closes 2/19/2024)
Our natural areas conservation interns support management efforts at our natural areas, including Battle Park and the Piedmont Nature Trails.
