As a garden focused on conserving the biodiversity of southeastern native plants, we recognize that just as biodiversity is critical to a healthy ecosystem, diversity in people and perspectives makes our organization and community stronger.

NCBG is committed to creating an environment in our gardens and natural areas where everyone’s voice is heard and everyone feels safe and welcome.

UNC Work-Study Students

The Work-Study program, offered through the UNC Office of Scholarship and Student Aid, helps fund part-time positions during the school year for UNC students. Recent work-study positions at the Garden have included Assistant Gardener, Front Desk Associate, Garden Shop Assistant, Business Office Assistant, and Plant Museum Specialist, among others.

Grow Your Career

From horticulture to land management, we hire a cohort of interns each summer. These roles are designed for students and those just starting out in the field. Internship opportunities for the summer are usually posted in late winter into early spring.
