About School & Group Programs

The North Carolina Botanical Garden is a great place for a field trip! Bring your students to learn about and explore the incredible diversity of plants and habitats of our state and inspire a deeper connection with nature. We offer guided and self-guided field trips for school, homeschool, and other youth community groups.

Guided field trips connect students to plants and natural sciences through hands-on activities and positive outdoor learning experiences. Programs align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and are led by staff and docents.

Self-guided field trips provide your group the opportunity to explore the display gardens and nature trails at your own pace throughout the year. Resources, such as scavenger hunts, are available to enhance your visit.

Stay tuned for virtual field trip materials and teacher resources!
