The longleaf pine ecosystem is one of the most diverse and endangered habitats in North America, supporting hundreds of plant and animal species, many of which are threatened or endangered. Colette DeGarady, The Nature Conservancy’s Longleaf Pine Whole System Director, will discuss the current status and future trends of longleaf pine ecosystem conservation, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for restoring this vital landscape. She will also share some of the innovative strategies and partnerships that The Nature Conservancy and other organizations are using to protect and enhance the longleaf pine ecosystem across its historic range.
