The Carolina Community Garden (CCG) grows vegetables and fruit so all UNC employees have access to fresh, sustainably-grown produce through the shared efforts of staff, students, faculty, and local residents. The CCG serves as a learning community for developing gardening skills, healthy living practices, social responsibility, and interdisciplinary academic pursuits.
The garden is located at the end of Wilson Street in Chapel Hill, right off East Cameron Avenue. It’s a five minute walk from the Pit and about a two minute bike ride. We have a sturdy picnic table to park your backpack and helmet, and there are some excellent trees available to lock your bike to.
Heading west on Cameron (away from campus/toward Carrboro), go past Pittsboro Street (where the Carolina Inn is located) and then make your first left onto Wilson Street. Go toward the end of the street and you’ll see the garden on your right.
Parking: If you drive a vehicle of the four-wheeled variety, Nash parking lot is located directly across from the garden site (to the left at the end of Wilson Street). This lot is available for public parking after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day on weekends – except during special events like football games. Meter parking is available near the garden on Cameron Avenue.
