Up Now: Sculpture in the Garden

A metal great blue heron stands in front of an abstract blue cast iron sculpture, surrounded by black-eyed susans and switchgrass.

The 35th annual Sculpture in the Garden opens on Sunday, September 17 and runs until Sunday, December 3.

Sculpture in the Garden unites the work of local artists with the native plant landscapes of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Together, they invite you to experience art, the natural world, and the relationship between the two in a new way. This year’s show features over 80 installations by 58 North Carolina artists. The show is free to visit during normal Garden hours (suggested donation $5), and all ages are welcome. Most sculptures are available for purchase, and a portion of proceeds benefits the North Carolina Botanical Garden.
