This lecture and hands-on workshop will provide an overview of the biology of pine trees, including how they grow, reproduce, and interact with the environment. Participants will learn the key anatomical and morphological features used to distinguish among eight species of Pinus in North Carolina, as well as the types of ecosystems in which they are found.
