The North Carolina Botanical Garden offers a variety of hands-on field trips for school and homeschool groups.

Guided programs are designed to connect students to plants and natural science through positive outdoor learning experiences.

Field trips align with the Common Core and Essential Standards and are led by staff and trained Garden Guide volunteers.

We welcome self-guided groups throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no fee; however, we do require registration so that we can coordinate your visit with our program schedule and send you helpful information for your visit. Group size is limited to 50 total participants. If you would like to book a self-guided visit, please complete the request form at least one (1) week before you plan to visit.

*All spots for guided programs this spring are booked.*

Registration opens for 2023-24 guided field trips in August.

Fall 2023 School Field Trip Season:  September through November

Spring 2024 School Field Trip Season: March through May

The Garden is closed on Mondays and state holidays.
